Busy Downtown Mallow
In 1997, Pastor Craig Ledbetter saw most of Ireland without Bible-believing Churches, except for in the largest cities, and was burdened to go into the farming communities of rural Ireland with the Gospel. After travelling through Macroom, Fermoy, Mallow, Mitchelstown, Youghal, and Kinsale, Craig’s heart was stirred to do some house-to-house evangelism in Mallow. Over the next few months, a small group of about a dozen new believers and hungry Christians were being brought down to the Bible Baptist Church in Blarney every week for preaching and fellowship. By June of that year, the number of people were exceeding his and another car’s capacity, so the decision was made to start Gospel meetings locally somewhere in Mallow. The Lord opened up the Mallow Community Centre, and services were held from 3-5pm every Sunday. Pastor Craig took on this leadership position as an interim task until either an Irish pastor was willing to take over, or until another Missionary would arrive that would better minister to the Mallow people until such a day as an Irish pastor takes over.
The goal of the Church in Mallow is three-fold:
Obey our Lord’s command to go into all the world and preach the Gospel, starting New Testament, Bible Believing Churches everywhere (Matthew 28:19,20) – so we started a Church in Mallow.
Influence the community of Mallow with the Gospel through winning souls there, and equipping them to be a light in the community.
Be autonomous – this means for the Christians who are members of the Bible Baptist Church of Mallow to be self-sufficient as an Irish Church, with its own Irish pastor.
You are very welcome to the Bible Baptist Church of Mallow! Truly our heart’s desire is that you would enjoy your visit with us, and the study of the Bible! Take a moment and notice the many things available here that may interest you, and take the time to meet Pastor Craig and his family, who are here for you, and available to you! Thanks for being a part of this very special service today!
What’s Happens Here?
First and foremost, you will find a practical study of the Bible! Our focus is not on outward rituals, holydays, statues, nor Mass, but rather the clear and plain teaching of the Bible as we seek to honour and glorify the Lord Jesus! There will be plenty of songs, puppets, games, and a lot of fun for everybody as we learn God’s word, the Bible. It definitely will not be "school" or "lectures," but interaction, and enjoyment because Jesus said in John 8:32, "ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free."
The order of our weekly 3.00 pm afternoon service is simple:
First we start off singing hymns and praises to the Lord for His goodness to us, and of His so great salvation for all!
Next, we begin a time of Bible Study called the Sunday School. During this 20 minutes, everyone will enjoy learning the Bible stories that instil faith and confidence in our Lord and Saviour. Puppets, pictures, and other teaching methods will be used to keep everyone’s interest focused on the wonderful truths of God’s word and power! All ages will enjoy this special time of growth and learning!
Following the Sunday School session there is a ten or fifteen
minute break where you can get you a cup of tea or coffee, and can get
acquainted with the other people here.
After the break, we rejoin together for more singing, and then for the teaching and preaching of the word of God - not man’s opinions, nor conjectures, but clear and plain instruction with everyone having a Bible and seeing the for themselves what it says!
Following the service, there will be time for more tea and fellowship.
Our Message
There is no message more important than the one that tells you how to get to heaven! Jesus said in John 3:7, "Ye must be born again" because, "there is none righteous, no not one" (Romans 3:10). Therefore, "the Son of man is come to seek and to save that which was lost" (Luke 19:10). "For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God" (Ephesians 2:8,9). Be saved today!
