One
thing that instantly pops into most Christian’s minds when we look at our
Lord’s command of “Go ye into all the world” is the word,
“IMPOSSIBLE!” But what our Lord commands us to do, He also enables us to do
it:
Faithful
is he that calleth you, who also will do it.
(1Thessalonians 5:24)
Just
what has Christ Jesus called us to do? NOT to personally win the whole world –
saving a soul is God’s business. It is NOT to personally talk to every person
in the world. No, sometimes we read INTO the Scriptures what is not there.
What
Did Jesus Command Us To Do?
To
Go! Just by being
on the move, and actively witnessing to others about their need to repent and
look only to Jesus for forgiveness, is all God asked us to do.
To
Preach and Teach! Jesus
directs every Christain to speak the truth in love (Eph 4:15a).
People are afraid to talk about heaven and hell anymore! Yet, when Jesus, or any
of His disciples spoke from the word of God, they ALWAYS spoke with authority
(Mt 7:29; Mark 13:34; Titus 2:15), and had the boldness to command people to
repent and believe the Gospel. Most Christians today cannot even fumble
through a terrible excuse of witnessing, and so the world just laughs as it
passes on! Shame on us! The Gospel is GOOD NEWS – you couldn’t ask for
anything better to talk to people about!
To
Stay at it! People
today have 10 hours worth of TV and radio programming aimed at them every day against
the Gospel. To open their eyes to their need to be born-again is going to
take some long-term commitment by us Christians where we, like a farmer, plows,
plants, waters, weeds, and waits as he waters some more, and weeds some more
until fruit appears!
To
Work Together as a Team. This is how the world is reached! You take all the efforts of
every individual, and unify them into teams – each local church being one
team, and every local church in every town and village preaching and teaching
every person they meet just what God says in His word. Our churches also need to
look around constantly and see where the Gospel is not currently being preached,
and send out preachers and missionaries to start churches there as well!
Can
the World be Reached in Our Lifetime?
Christ started with 12 disciples (students). Those twelve men took Christ’s words to the world, city by city and turned it “upside down” (Acts 17:6).
If every Christian, who has truly repented of their sins, and asked Jesus to save them, would become a committed servant of Jesus going and telling anyone who will listen about Jesus, then the world could be turned to Christ in just 65 years. Watch the math:
Year 1 - You get saved and into a Bible preaching church, and get discipled (taught the Bible). You start with 2 (you and your Discipler) – that’s all you need!
Year 3 - You finish being discipled, and then win someone else to Christ, and get them into church, and training them. Your previous discipler also goes and wins someone to Christ, and starts discipling them. Now there are 4 Christians.
Year 5 - You encourage your disciple to reproduce himself, and you go and get another person saved, and in discipleship. There would then be 8 Christians. Not a lot to show for 5 years, but watch.
Year 7 – With everybody winning and training just one person, There would by-now be 16, strong, dedicated, Christians who would be the basis for a very strong and vibrant church, reaching out and affecting the world for Christ!
This goes on
with every Christian, every two years winning someone to Christ, training them
in the Bible, and then encouraging them to win someone and train them, and so
on, until year 65, when 8,589,934,592 will have been reached! That’s
2 billion more than the current population!
Jesus Has the
Best Plan!
Christ’s
plan works if every
Christian did his or her part! Truly, we need to believe that we can do what
Christ said must be done, even with over 6 billion people on this planet - if we
would set out to do it with all our heart, God would honour it!
Are
you saved? Today is the day of salvation,
don’t put it off any longer!
Are
your in church, faithfully? We meet so that
we can reach the world!
Are you discipled in God’s word? Misunderstandings and fears are conquered with God’s truth! Join a class today!
So, is the Christian’s life an “Impossible” one, or “It’s-Possible”? Come out to the preaching this month in Blarney and Mallow, and make up your own mind! Better yet, let God’s word decide it for you!
March is Missions Month here at Bible Baptist Church.
Jesus said, "be witnesses unto me, BOTH in Jerusalem, and in all Judea,
Samaria, and unto the uttermost part of the earth" (Acts 1:8). That's a
tall order. But an order is an order, and I am glad that so many of God's people
have faithfully endeavoured to be obeying Christ's command to go, and tell
people all over the world of the awfulness of hell, and the wonder of God's Son
on the cross for their salvation! These soul-winners are the reason why anyone
gets reached with the Gospel!
To
make this month count for souls world-wide, we need to do the following:
·
Write our missionaries! Use the addresses to the right.
·
Give more than our tithe, specifically every week, or at least every
month so that we can give as a church more to our Missionary families to reach
souls in their countries. They cannot Go, unless Christians SEND them!
·
Pray for each missionary family, every day!
·
Make ourselves available to God if He should choose to use us today at
our job, in our school, or in some other country as He leads us!
To fulfill Christ's command to "Go Ye!" requires us to hunger for God's Holy Ghost power in our lives - to conquer our fears, and to equip us to serve in His great army of believers! Ask God to feed your faith this month as you read and learn God's word, and as you hear it preached on each Sunday! Don't let fear, the love of this world, wrong ideas, opposition from the devil, and disobedient hearts hold us back from being, and doing our Lord's business of winning souls!
When God looked down to see who would need the preaching of the Gospel,
He saw not just Israel, or Rome, or America – He saw, and still sees an entire
WORLD. Take a look at the following list, and see what God says about the need
of the whole WORLD to hear about Jesus, and the cross!

Look unto me and be ye saved ALL
YE ENDS OF THE EARTH. Isaiah 45:22

For God so loved THE
WORLD that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in
him should not perish, but have everlasting life. John 3:16
·
In his name shall THE
GENTILES trust. Matthew 12:21
·
I will also give thee for a
light to THE GENTILES, that thou
mayest be my salvation unto the end of the earth. Isaiah 49:6
·
Behold my servant, whom I
uphold; mine elect, in whom my soul delighteth; I have put my spirit upon him:
he shall bring forth judgment to THE GENTILES.

Declare his glory among THE
HEATHEN, his wonders among all people. Psalm 96:3
·
Say among THE
HEATHEN that the LORD reigneth. Psalm 96:10
·
And he said unto them, Go ye
into ALL THE WORLD, and preach the
gospel to every creature. Mark 16:15

Go ye therefore, and teach ALL
NATIONS, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son,
and of the Holy Ghost: Matthew 28:19
He sees more than just US needing
Jesus!
Our Lord asked simply, “Who will go?”
(Isaiah 6). What is amazing, is that so much of the world is coming to Ireland!
Could it be for such a time as this? Could it be because some of us Christians
are going to get serious about being a Gospel witness, and reaching the world
with the Gospel, starting right here on our own door-step?!
Think back, and remember the person who patiently gave you the Gospel of
Jesus. Maybe it was several people, spaced out over time. Think about God’s
goodness in letting you hear time after time how that Christ died in your place
on the cross. Remember the struggle you had deciding to surrender all your
excuses, and then in desperation, cried out to God to save your lost hell-bound
soul! Wasn’t it a great day?
Well, it all happened because God looked down
and saw YOU, and then sent somebody TO YOU, with a Bible in their hand, and a
burden for your salvation in their heart!
Has your employer ever clearly heard why Jesus
died? How about your Mom?
Today,
3 billion people have never even heard of the name of Jesus! They
need to hear before it’s too late! Are any of us willing to go and preach next
door, across the street, across town, into the next county, into Europe, to
China, Japan, Colombia, Siberia… until the job’s done?
